Welcome!
Thank you for stopping by. I am a writer, specializing in children's fiction. I joined SCBWI (The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators) in 2002, and have not looked back. 2004 was a milestone. I placed first in the Writer's Digest writing competition with my novel for young readers.
In 2006, I was offered my first book contract by Enslow Publishers to write the biography of Newbery author Richard Peck, for their Authors Teens Love series. It is now available (see right). I recently finished a second book for Enslow (the biography of Lois Duncan), due out Fall 2008.
Fiction is my first love, so this summer (2008), I am focusing on finishing another novel.
News!
October 22, 2007 - Southern Breeze news! My novel submission won Second Place in the novels category. Thank you Arianne Lewin (Hyperion) who judged the entries of the 2nd Annual Southern Breeze writing contest!
NaNoWriMo
I participated again in the annual NaNoWriMo competition, otherwise known as National Novel Writing Month. What is it? "NaNoWriMo is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing." It begins November 1, and the goal is to write a 50k-word novel by November 30. Lately I have learned that I need accountability and stoking to get grooving.
I update my web site regularly so please take a few moments to click around. Before you scoot, drop me an email, and of course, come back any old time!
Below are some of my most recent publications.
